About the Choir

The choir meet every Monday lunchtime between 12:15 and 12:45 with Mrs Batchellor and Miss Duncan. The choir is open to any child in Key Stage Two. We sing a range of different music from pop songs to popular culture. We aim to cover a wide range of music to suit all children within the choir.

We are currently singing a range ready to perform at the Young Voices 2016 Concert in Sheffield.

Events

For the first time the children in the choir took part in the Young Voices Concert at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena. We sang a variety of different songs including Mr Bluesky, Family Film Fun and You Raise Me Up, with over 5000 other children from across the region. The children, staff and parents had an amazing time singing, dancing and participating in a mass mexican wave! The highlight of the evening for all the children was the joint performance with Xfactor contestant Stacey Soloman, who performed several songs with the children. Thank you to all the children and parents for the support and involvement to make the evening a success. Plans are already in place to take part in Young Voices next year!

On Monday 10th March the children in the school took part in the Cleckheaton Schools Choir Concert at Whitcliffe Mount Schhol. The evening was a great success and the children were amazing. They really stood out from the other schools in their purple school t-shirts and sang all the songs with hugh smiles on their faces. We have spent an awful lot of time singing the songs in choir and really enjoyed the evening. The highlight of the show was the mass sing-along of the Take That single Shine with the other singers and musicans at the event. Thank to all the children who took part and the family members who came to watch the event. I am sure like the children you had an amazing time.

The children performed at the switch on of the Christmas Lights in Cleckheaton. We sang four Christmas songs and Mr Hoyle even played his Tuba!

Thank you to everybody who came to support the choir at this event. We look forward to performing for you again soon.

Look at the photos below of us singing.

The children are busy preparing for our annual carol concert as part of the Primary Parliament at St Lukes Church on Tuesday 8th December.

Also join us at the Christmas Enterprise Event in school on Thursday 10th December to hear the current school choir perform Christmas Carols to entertain the shoppers. We will be collecting to help raise funds for our annual trip to Sheffield to participate in the Young Voices Concert. Keep popping back to see up to date photographs and information regarding the choir.
