Parents Information

Welcome back, we hope you have all had a lovely half term break and are ready for the final half term before the children move on to their next year groups.

This half term our theme will be ‘Dear Zoo ’ with a focus on the Story Written by Rod Campbell. Our theme will begin with a trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and will allow the children to see some of the animals from the story first hand.

Back at school the children will have the opportunity to recreate their experience using our small and large scale Zoo role play areas.

The children will be talking about different animals from Zoos, farms, underwater and their own pets.   They will be able to use their literacy and numeracy skills as they work imaginatively taking on roles in our pet shop and vets.

Our creative work will include drawings paintings and models of different animals. Finding ways to represent the characters from the story including making  puppets and masks. Children will also be given the opportunity to create their own lift the flap page.

We will be helping all of our children on their next journey by arranging transitional visits to their new year groups and to get to know some of the staff and children they will be spending the next year with.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support throughout this year and wish you a good summer break.
