SATS Paper

For our Y6 children. A bank of all previous SATs papers for you to revise from for your upcoming tests in May. For further information about your SATS, please see our Assessments        section.

Please note, since the introduction of the new 'harder' papers, only the 2016 papers will give a true indication of what your child can expect this year. However, the other papers from previous years will certainly give a flavour of the types of questions and will get your child in the habit of how to answer SATs style questions. The website is free so please use as much as you see fit!

Times Tables Rockstars

Times Tables Rockstars is a fun, unique and inspiring way for children to learn their times tables.

When it comes to times tables, speed AND accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations.

Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help students master the times tables!

To be a Times Table Rock Star you need to answer any multiplication fact up to 12×12 in less than 3 seconds!

The goal is for all participating rockers to be Times Table Rock Stars after 20 weeks!

Your child should already have their own username and password (please come and see one of us if not!). In order to access the site, please click on the picture above. For more information, and a free planning guide, please download the parent information pack below:

STAR Assessments

You may also find your child talking about STAR assessments when discussing Accelerated Reader with them. Star Assessments are short tests that provide teachers with learning data. STAR tests are computer adaptive, which means they adjust to each answer your child provides. This helps teachers get the best data to help your child in the shortest amount of testing time (about one-third of the time other tests take). For more information about the STAR reading process, please click here.

Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling

2018 Updated Revision Resources

After analysing the mock tests, we have found some common misconceptions that we feel the documents below may help to alleviate. Please find attached some questions (and solutions) for the topics stated. These can be used sporadically in the build up to the Y6 SATs tests or to 'plug a gap' which you may come across when completing homework with your child at home. We hope they are of use.

Spellings play a crucial part in helping your child to become a well-rounded writer. They also form a critical part of the SATS process for Year 6 children. With this in mind, please find below a useful document regarding spelling rules, patterns, processes and lists which we hope you will find useful whichever year group your child is in but particularly if they are in Year 6.
